Digital Twins
Fulcrum Digital Twins are personalized mathematical simulations of an individual, informed by a vast ensemble of clinical and mechanistic data, tailored to an individual’s genetics, lifestyle, and biomarkers.
A Digital Twin is not a risk calculator, but a dynamic model of how an individual’s brain is maintaining homeostatic balance, and how that balance can be destabilized by combinations of aging, genetic, and lifestyle factors.
Twins enable numerous stakeholders with causal hypotheses for complex data and guidance for decision-making with a virtually unlimited capacity to explore what-if scenarios for interventions and data collection.

New Therapy Developers
Fulcrum Digital Twins provide a pioneering new lens for interpreting multiomic clinical datasets. First applied on Phase 1b proteomic data, today Fulcrum is using Digital Twins to determine the physiologic role of novel proteins, lipids, and lipoproteins (see Our Science). By using the same causal knowledge assets underneath Digital Twins both for assessing novel protein function and for simulating pharmaceutical modulation of that function, Fulcrum Digital Twins are a scalable, data-driven approach to target identification and evaluation. Since our underlying models are focused on homeostasis and the destabilizing transitions into progressive disease, we are uniquely focused on biology that is inherently disease-modifying, identifying biological processes not present in today’s pharma pipelines.

Research insights on dementia often don’t deliver full potential given their siloed nature. Our systems engineering principles break down silos to achieve a mathematically-explicit, holistic representation for how all the pieces fit together. Publishing with Fulcrum, collaborators can better articulate how their research connects with others in ways that would have been challenging to see otherwise. Similarly, Digital Twin interpretation of clinical datasets can identify fertile new directions for collaborator research.

Clinicians
Fully incorporating dementia-risk studies of lifestyle, nutrition, and medications, Fulcrum Digital Twins help clinicians bridge the gap between published research and the patient in front of them. PubMed references are easily accessible, along with the ability to see how additional lab tests or assessments might impact understanding of risk and optimal recommendations.

Patients
Fulcrum Digital Twins help patients understand how their lifestyle, nutrition, and medication choices strengthen their brain’s resilience to age-driven cognitive decline, providing them a rich menu of choices so they can find a combination that works for their body and fits with their preferences.
